Depression can quite complex to deal with. Besides the fact that it can affect each person differently and symptoms may dramatically vary, the list of possible symptoms associated with the disorder is several that it can be hard to diagnose. The symptoms associated with the condition can be due to various prominent conditions and diseases. One example would be PMS. Pre-menstrual syndrome commonly referred to as PMS or PMSing as a verb is typically used to describe a series of symptoms seen in women during the onset of menstruation every month. There are well over 100 symptoms that can be attributed to the disorder and some of these effects may be seen with depressed individuals as well.

PMS depression is fairly common and should not be taken too seriously as it is a fairly normal occurrence. PMS depression should however be kept note of. It can be quite difficult to decide whether the symptoms are the typical effects of PMS or possibly some kind of mental disorder. PMS depression symptoms include mood swings, a sudden break down into tears and negativity. PMS and depression can be further investigated depending on a number of distinctions.

Depression and PMS are both associated with moodiness but if it appears to be in excess or out of control, it could be a sign of an underlying condition referred to as premenstrual dysphoric disorder or even another common mental disorders like depression or bipolar disorder. Another way to look at it Is the type of symptoms experienced. if the signs are more emotional rather than a mixture of physical as well as emotional symptoms, It could possibly be due to a mental disorder. Menstruation is accompanied by several physiological changes and if these are not present, it could indicate a different problem.

The severity of the depressed feelings and negativity is also an indicator. While PMS depression results in similar symptoms, it is usually mild in manner as in the case of dysthymia and it is rarely severe. Severe symptoms suggest the possibility of an actual mental disorder that has developed. Other indicators include being extremely annoyed or irritable, having a feeling of being overwhelmed as well as having difficulty concentrating. If you experience at least a few of these symptoms, it may be a good idea to be evaluated for depression. PMS depression treatment is approached the same way as any other form of the disorder and can be remedied quite effectively.
