Depression is a highly damaging disorder that can be caused by a number of factors. Similarly, it can affect virtually every area of your life. The most common reasons for depression include drug abuse, traumatic incidents, loneliness and a lack of accomplishment in life. it could also be caused by physiological aspects such as irregular functioning of the thyroid gland which can cause hormone levels to fluctuate resulting in the disorder.

One reason that is usually not given much attention is relationships. Depression and relationships can be closely linked. Depression may sometimes be caused due to an abusive relationship. Another possible occurrence is that the condition caused by other factors may greatly affect relationships. Depression in relationships can seriously threaten the union.

A depression relationship should be quickly addressed and rectified as it can effectively destroy it. a person who happens to be depressed due to a relationship may not be inclined to break it off depending on the circumstances. There are two ways to deal with this. Firstly, to seek counsel, talk to each other and rectify the issues. Another way would be to simply end the relationship. The latter option may seem rather self-explanatory but individuals often tend to stay together despite the negative emotions it brings about due to familiarity and resistance to change. For this reason depression and relationships can be quite complicated.

The other scenario is when the disorder is caused due to other aspects and it starts to strain a relationship. There is a number of ways how depression affects relationships. The malady brings about numerous symptoms such as extreme negativity in perception, lack of enthusiasm and motivation and apathy. Any of these characteristics make the perfect recipe for failure in any relationships. For this reason depression and relationships can be difficult to deal with. This is why it is important to recognize the symptoms so that a depressed person’s significant other would realize that they are actually suffering from a disorder rather than behaving in a particular manner as they are not interested in the relationship.

Men and depression and relationships is a broad topic that requires a lot of scrutiny. Men in relationships who happen to have the disorder may react in a very peculiar manner. Understanding the symptoms and behavioral aspects is crucial to getting through the phase.
